Respecting privacy online matters to me. This website can generally be used without disclosing personal data. Exceptions are contact by email and the contact form, which are described below.

Hosting with Netlify

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

When you visit the site, Netlify processes the technical data needed to deliver pages securely and reliably. Netlify may process data on servers outside the EU/EEA. For the technical delivery of this website, the following data is typically transmitted by your browser and may be stored in server log files by the hosting provider:

  • URL of the requested page
  • IP address
  • Browser type and version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL (if transmitted)
  • Date and time of the request

Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure, stable operation of the website). Retention is governed by Netlify’s systems and policies.

Website usage analytics

I use Netlify Web Analytics. Data is collected server-side from CDN logs—no analytics cookies or client-side tracking scripts are used. According to Netlify, activity is tracked anonymously without cookies or personally identifying information.

Metrics may include page views, approximate visitor counts (e.g. based on IP addresses in CDN logs), popular pages, referrers, and locations. Details: How Netlify Web Analytics works

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used and improving it).

Contact by email

If you contact me by email, your email address and any personal data you include will be processed to handle your inquiry. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual steps / contract) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding). Data is kept only as long as needed to process the inquiry and any follow-up, unless longer retention is required by law.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, the data you submit (such as name, email address, optional company, and message) is transmitted to me by email and processed to handle your request. A short confirmation email may also be sent to the address you provide. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Data is kept only as long as needed to process the inquiry and any follow-up, unless longer retention is required by law.

This site uses only technically necessary cookies:

  • Language preference (i18n_locale) — stores whether you use the German or English version of the site.

These cookies are required for basic functionality. No consent banner is shown for them. No advertising or marketing cookies are used.

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to object to processing, where applicable under the GDPR.
